Physician Assistant

Tyler is a native of Wisconsin and moved to the DMV area in January 2016 when he joined Metropolitan Nephrology Associates. For his undergraduate degree, he attended University of Wisconsin-Madison and after 2 years of prerequisite work, was accepted into the prestigious Pharmacology and Toxicology Program, which is one of only 10 schools in the entire US that offer this degree. While in the program, he worked in the lab for four years and ultimately helped to publish the paper “Cytochrome P450 1B1: An Unexpected Modulator of Liver Fatty Acid Homeostasis.” He graduated with honors in December 2010 with his B.S. in Pharmacology and Toxicology. Afterwards, he received his Masters of Medical Science from Yale University in December 2015 and has been a certified physician assistant since that time. He is a member of the National Kidney Foundation along with a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. He enjoys all aspects of nephrology but has a particular interest in hypertension management, acute kidney injury, and metabolic derangements. In his free time, he loves to travel, hike, and play sand volleyball.
