Dr Gayatri Lessey obtained her medical degree from the University of the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago where she was born and raised. She subsequently completed her Internal Medicine Residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY and then went on to complete her fellowship in Nephrology at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington DC in 2019. After completing fellowship, Dr Lessey practiced Nephrology in West Virginia for 4 years before returning to the DMV area. She has keen interests in acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, hypertension, home dialysis therapies and women’s health in CKD. Her leisure activities include gardening and exploring nature.
